Sessions at the Shannon – Traditional Music Festival – Programme of Events

If you’re into trad music then come to Carrick on Shannon for the October Bank Holiday.  Sessions at the Shannon is a Traditional Music Festival taking place in Carrick  over the October Bank Holiday from Friday 24th to Monday 27th.   There will be sessions going on in one of the 11 pubs taking part from morning till night.  Over 40 musicians will keep your toes tapping for the weekend. There is a Ceílí Mór in St Mary’s Hall on Bank Holiday Sunday and a Fancy dress Halloween Dance Party with Sean Nós ar an tSionnan in The Bush Hotel on Bank Holiday Monday.

Saturday 25th Oct:  Glancy’s Waterfront 5-7pm,  Dunnes Bar 6-8pm, The Landmark 8-10pm,  Cryans 9.30pm,   The Oarsman 9.30pm and Cryans Hotel 9.30pm

Sunday 26th Oct: Glancy’s Waterfront 12-2pm,   Murtagh’s Bar 12-2pm,  The Landmark Hotel 5-7pm,  The Swan 6-8pm, The Anchorage 8-10pm, Cryans Bar 9.30pm,  The Oarsman 9.30pm,   An Poitin Stil 9.30pm,   Cryan’s Hotel 9.30.

Sunday 26th Oct – Fiddle Trio in the Bush Hotel Foyer at 1pm –  Ceílí Mór with the Marshy Ridge Ceílí Band in St Mary’s Hall at 3pm Adults €10, Children €5 –  Singing Session with Paddy & Mick O’Rourke and friends in Cryans Music Room (Over Cryans Pub) at6pm

Monday 27th Oct – Musical Quiz & Session in The Bush Hotel at 3pm  –  Fancy Dress Hallloween Dance Party with Sean Nós ar an tSionnanin The Bush Hotel at 6.30pm  €7 or  €20 Family

Wednesday 29th Oct – Dervish in Concert  in The Dock Arts Centre at 8.30pm €20
