Fairtrade Fortnight 2019

Posted on : February 20, 2019

Fairtrade Fortnight 2019 will run from Monday 25th February to Sunday 10th March.  Businesses are asked to prominently display their Fairtrade goods in their shop windows and instore.  Supporters are asked to join the movement across Ireland this Fairtrade Fortnight and are encouraged to Check Out Fairtrade and help change the world.

Carrick on Shannon was designated a Fairtrade Town in 2010. The Fairtrade Steering Committee continues to work to maintain awareness and involve local businesses and the local community in the Fairtrade campaign. By choosing to support Fairtrade, the community can add its voice to demands for a trading system that puts people, not profit, at the heart of the transaction.

The launch of Fairtrade Fortnight will take place in Esquire’s, Rosebank Retail Park on Monday 25th February at 10.30am and a presence from retailers/traders would be appreciated.

On Thursday 28th February the annual parade will assemble at  11.00am outside Kelly’s Centra and march through the town to the Market Yard event.   Fairtrade Ireland traders/retailers are invited to present a small hamper filled with Fairtrade goods on sale in their establishments for display.
