Fabulous New Christmas Lights For Carrick

Posted on : November 25, 2015

Leitrim’s County Town is set to be a shining beacon this year with brand new Christmas Lights. Plans will see Carrick’s streets lit with new, State of the Art, light features, with new lighting on the bridge also. Santa will be switching them on from the Market Yard Centre at 4.15pm on Saturday, December 5th. Carrick’s newly acquired Purple Flag will also be raised at 3pm on the same day.

The work is being led by Carrick Chamber, Leitrim County Council and local businesses in an unprecedented, cooperative effort, to promote the County Town.

Also planned are extensive Christmas markets and entertainments.

The cooperative efforts follow on from Carrick’s recent success in attaining coveted Purple Flag status for the management of its night time economy. The award was received at a ceremony attended by Chamber, Council and An Garda representatives recently.

Carrick is the smallest town thus far given the prestigious Award.

The Purple Flag will be proudly raised at 3pm at a ceremony on December 5th also.

Chamber members are very proud to be significantly funding the new lighting.
